HomeMy WebLinkAbout2008-11-17-Resolutions 08-249_City Administrator Employment GoalsTHE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA RESOLUTION 08-249 RESOLUTION APPROVING THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR'S EMPLOYMENT GOALS IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA WHEREAS,Jeffrey L.Kooistra is serving as the City Administrator for the City of Waukee at the will of the City Council of the City of Waukee;AND, WHEREAS,a performance evaluation was conducted between the City Administrator and the City Council of the City of Waukee and it was determined that employment goals should be set for the City Administrator based on said performance evaluation;AND, WHEREAS,the City Council hereby determines that the employment goals attached as Exhibit A should be approved. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council that the employment goals for the City Administrator,Jeffrey L.Kooistra,are attached hereto as Exhibit A and the same are hereby approved. Passed by the City Council of the City of Waukee,Iowa,and approved this the 17th day of November,2008. Attest: D.Schuett,Deputy City Clerk ROLL CALL VOTE Donald L.Bailey,Jr. Casey L.Harvey C.Isaiah McGee Darlene Stanton Mike Watts AYE X X X X X NAY ABSENT ABSTAIN I Exhibit A City Administrator Goals 1.Be more prepared,creative and innovative in advising the Mayor and Council with regard to the best interests of the City,both now and in the future.(i.e.,Alice's Road corridor Top Priority;City Annexation West to R-16,etc.) 2.Develop a vision for growth of the City and create a team of City Staff so as to always be ready to pursue economic development with other economic development resources available to the City and to identify ready locations for development based on infrastructure locations. 3.Provide more cornmunication and leadership relative to departmental roles and responsibilities to provide competent and efficient provision of municipal duties, responsibilities and City services. 4.Improve communication with Council and Mayor.Need to assure that adequate resources and information are available to elected officials to make decision making more efficient. 5.Pursue govermnental collaborations for consideration by Mayor and Council. 6.Be more cognitive,communicative and involved in community wants,needs and provide information for dissemination to the media. 2
