RESOLUTION 08-255
APPROVING THE MAYOR'S APPOINTMENT OF TWO (2)REPRESENTATIVES
TO THE METRO ADVISORY COMMITTEE (MAC)HOMELAND SECURITY
ADVISORY COMMITTEE
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee,Iowa is a duly organized municipality within Dallas
County;AND,
WHEREAS,on May 21,2007,the Waukee City Council approved an agreement under Iowa
Code Chapter 28E by and among the cities of Des Moines,Altoona,Ankeny,Bondurant,
Carlisle,Clive,De Soto,Grimes,Indianola,Johnston,Mitchellville,Norwalk,Pleasant Hill,
Polk City,Urbandale,Waukee,West Des Moines and Windsor Heights and the Counties of
Polk,Dallas and Warren for the funding and implementation of homeland security services
within the metropolitan area (Resolution #07-101);AND,
WHEREAS,the Metro Advisory Committee (MAC)requests that member groups appoint
two representatives to the Homeland Security Advisory Committee,with one appointee being
a member of public safety and the other being a management person;AND,
WHEREAS,Mayor William F.Peard has appointed Waukee Police Department Sgt.Troy
Mapes and City Administrator/Clerk Jeffrey L.Kooistra as representatives to the Homeland
Security Advisory Committee.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOL YED by the City of Waukee City Council in session
this 17th day of November 2008,that it hereby approves the Mayor's appointment of
representatives to the Metro Advisory Committee (MAC)Homeland Security Advisory
Committee .
