RESOLUTION 17-172
APPROVING THE TEMPORARY CLOSING OF CERTAIN PUBLIC STREETS FOR
THE WAUKEE 4 "OF JULY CELEBRATION
IN THE NAME AND BY THE A UTHOII ITY OF THE CITY OF WA UKEE,IO 1YA
WHEREAS,the Waukee Parks and Recreation Department requests the following temporary
closures of specific public streets for activities associated with the 4'"of July Celebration:
~Parade:The temporary closing of Locust Street from 5'"Street west to 7"Street;7"
Street from Locust Street north to Ashworth Drive;Ashworth Drive from 7rh Street south
and east to 4"'Street;4"Street from Ashworth Drive south to Northview Drive;
Northview Drive from 4"Street east to S.Warrior Lane;S.Warrior Lane from
Northview Drive south to the entrance to the Waukee Middle School parking lot where
the parade participants will disburse,beginning 2:00 p.m.and ending when the parade is
concluded on Tuesday,July 4,2017.

Lane east to SE L.A.Grant Parkway and S.Warrior Lane from SE University Avenue
north to SE Park Road beginning 5:00 p.m.and ending 10:30 p.m.on Tuesday,July 4,
2017;with a "rain date"temporary closing of the same said streets at the same said times
on Wednesday,July 5,2017;AND,
WHEREAS,pursuant to I'1364.12(2)(a),public ways and grounds may be temporarily closed by
resolution;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this
3'day of April,2017,that it hereby approves the temporary closing of certain public streets for
the Waukee 4"of July Celebration.
