Home My WebLink About2017-11-20-Resolutions 17-532_Grand Prairie Pkwy-Esker Ridge Dr Traffic Signal - Engineering AgrTHE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA RESOLUTION 17-532 APPROVING ENGINEERING SERVICES AMENDMENT NO.1 BETWEEN THE CITY OF WAUKEE AND FOTH INFRASTRUCTURE AND ENVIRONMENT,LLC [SK ESKER RIDGE DRIVE TRAFFIC SIGNAL DESIGN SERVICES] IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WA UKEE,IOP'2 WHEREAS,the City of Waukee,Dallas County,State of Iowa,is a duly organized Municipal Organization;AND, WHEREAS,on August 1,2016,the Waukee City Council approved an Agreement for Professional Consulting Services with Foth Infrastructure &Environment,LLC,tor traffic signal design services, Grand Prairie Parkway and SE Esker Ridge Drive (Resolution ¹16-339);AND, WHEREAS,additional work is necessary related to the design of a street lighting system along SE Esker Ridge Drive,as well as future street light system design for those portions of the Kettlestone District that are powered by a lighting cabinet located at the northeast corner of SE Esker Ridge Drive and SE Glacier Trail;AND, WHEREAS,the Amendment No.1 to the engineering services agreement has been reviewed and approved by the Waukee City Attorney. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waukee that the Engineering Services Amendment No.1 between the City of Waukee and Foth Infrastructure and Environment,LLC [SE Esker Ridge Drive Traffic Signal Design Services],attached hereto as Exhibit A,is hereby approved. TASK A —Design of a Street Lighting System on Esker Ridge Drive and Future System adjacent to: This task includes the conceptual design,preliminary design,and final design of a street lighting system on Esker Ridge Drive.Proposed system begins at Grand Prairie Parkway and continues east to Glacier Trail. Includes a street light location layout,photometric design,circuit layout,wiring diagram,utility service location, equipment location,and bill of materials. This task also includes conceptual layout design and circuit layout for the street lighting system including the future Kettlestone District being powered by lighting cabinet in Northeast corner of SE Esker Ridge Drive and SE Glacier Trail ail. Task A 1 -Develo Desi n Criteria Confirm City design criteria to be used in developing the street light project.Criteria will conform to the City and SUDAS standards.The criteria to be addressed include: The following will bs used based on the Grand Prairie Parkway-Street Lighting project: ~illumination and uniformity standards ~Lamp type. ~Fixture type. ~Fixture and pole style and height. ~Pole footing type. ~Material suppliers. ~Light pole placement -Staggered Optimal curb setback. ~Preferred methods for underground construction. ~Electriical service and controller arrangement Task A.2 Prelimina Photometric Desi n Obtain current photometriic electronic data files from fixture manufacturer and determine optimum fixture photometric and NEMA distribution.Calculate optimum lamp wattage and optimum fixture spacing.Complete photometric calculations. Page 1 Folh lnlraslruclurs and Environment,LLC Protect Number 16IN058.00 Grand Prairie Parkway and Esker Ridge Tralllc Signal improvements Waukse,lowe Task A.2 Prelimina Plans Prepare preliminary design plans and specifications depicting the proposed street light layout for the project.Prepare preliminary quantities necessary to track the overall project costs.The preliminary plans will include but not be limited to the following tasks: Preliminary Typical Details (B Sheets) This task consists of assembling the Typical Details to be used for the proposed improvements as well as a preliminary determination of the limits that each apply.The Typical Details will include but not be limited to pole type,footing details,controller cabinet details and other necessary details for the proposed street light layout. Preliminary Estimate of Quanliiies (C sheets) This task consists of a preliminary determination of the bid items to be included in the project, along with an estimate of quantities for each item. Roadway Lighting Photometric Plan (P Sheets) This task consists of selection of lighting poles and fIxture types,design and drawing preparation of a preliminary layout,preparation of photometric analysis,and reports.This task does not include any electrical circuit design. This task consists of preliminary design and drafting associated with special project details. Task A.3 Final Plans Based upon approved preliminary design,the Consultant shall subsequently proceed with goal design, contract drawings,specifications and opinion of probable construction costs and incorporate into the overall project plan set and project manual.The work tasks to be performed include the following: Final Design Perform final design calculations,handhole placement,pole location,voltage drop calculations and circuit analysis and layout. Final Plans The Consultant shall provide the City with the following deliverables: Final Quantities (C Sheets)-This item consists of incorporating street lighting final bid items to be included in the Project,as well as final quantity tabulations,and the development of the general notes and estimate reference information. Roadway Lighting Plans (P Sheets)-Show final photometric plan and locations of poles on project plan drawings,circuit layout,wiring diagram,utility service location,equipment location,and bill of materials. Task A Subtotal -$10,450.00 Page 2 Folh Infrastructure and Environment,LLC Project Number 16WOSS.OO Grand Prairie Parkway and Esker Ridge Traffic Signal Improvements Waukee,Iowa In consideration for these services,the City agrees to adjust the compensation for services performed by the Engineer, These fees are based on the standard hourly rates of the Engineer's personnel actually engaged in the performance of the services,plus direct out-of-pocket costs for expenses incurred by personnel who are actually engaged in the work and other direct costs.The total Hourly Not to-Exceed fees for the professional engineering services as described in this amendment are as follows: I.Basic Services of the Engineer Task A 10 450 00 Total $10,450.00 THIS AMENDMENT is subject to all provisions of the original Agreement. THIS AMENDMENT,together with the original Agreement represents the entire and integrated AGREEMENT between the City and Engineer. THIS AMENDMENT executed the day and year written above.
