RESOLUTION 18-139
APPROVING A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING WITH COMMUNICATIONS
WORKERS OF AMERICA (CWA),LOCAL ¹7102,AFL-CIO,RECLASSIFYING JOB
GRADES FOR CERTAIN POSITIONS AS PART OF THE JULY 1,2016 —JUNE 30,2021
CONTRACT
JN THE NAMEAND BY THEAUTHOBJTYOF THE CITY OF IYAUKEE,JOPA
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee,Dallas County,State of Iowa,is a duly organized Municipal
Organization;AND,
WHEREAS,on May 23,2016,the Waukee City Council approved a Collective Bargaining
Agreement with the Communications Workers of America (CWA),Local ¹7102,AFL-CIO,in effect
July I,2016 through June 30,2021 (Resolution ¹16-219);AND,
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee and representatives of CWA,Local ¹7102,have reviewed and
approve a Memorandum of Understanding to acknowledge the reclassification of the Waukee Police
Department positions of Records Technician &om GS-9 to GS-10 and Evidence Technician from GS-
12 to GS-10;AND;
WHEREAS,the Memorandum of Understanding is attached hereto and by reference incorporated
herein;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this 2"day
of April,2018,that the Memorandum of Understanding with Communications Workers of America
(CWA),Local ¹7102,AFL-CIO,reclassifying job grades for certain positions as part of the July I,
2016 —June 30,2021 contract,is hereby approved.

MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN
THE CITY OF WAIJKKE,IOWA AND
THE COtIIMUNICAITONS WORKERS OF AhIKRICA,LOCAL 7102,AFL-CIO
This Memorandum of Understanding ("Memo'*)is entered into on this day of March 2018,by and
between the City of Waukee,Iowa ("City")and the Communications Workers of America,Local 7102,AFL-CIO
("Union").
WHEREAS,City snd Union entered into a collective bargaining agreement for the period of July I,2016,
through June 30,2021 (the "Contract*');and
WHEREAS,the Contract governs certain conditions of employment for members of the Union who are
employed by City;and
WHEREAS,this Memo updates the Job Grade for the positions of Records Tech.and Evidence Techd and
WHEREAS,this Memo is only intended for the positions of Records Tech.and Evidence Tech,and do not
affect any other part of the contract;and
IT IS THEREFORE AGREED,by and between City and Union as follows:
l.Appendix A —Wages ol'tbe Contract is hereby amended as follows:
a.The position nRecords Tech."listed under "Job Grades and Titles"on page 20 shall move
immediately &am GS-9 to GS-10;and
b.Tbe position "Evidence Tech."listed under "Job Grades and Titles"on page 20 shall
move immediately from GS-12 to GS-10.
2.These changes are only intended for the positions of Records Tech.and Fvidencc Tech and do not
affect any other part of the Contract.
3.The undersigned acknowledge and represent that they are authorized to enter into this Agreement
and that the terms and conditions are biuding upon the parties,their officers,members,successors
snd assigns.
4.This interpretation shall be effective upon the execution of this Memo.
