RESOLUTION RATIFYING,CONFIRMING,AND APPROVING THE
CHANGE IN DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION OF BIDS AND ORDERING
CLERK TO POST NOTICE AND FIXING A NEW DATE FOR RECEIVING
BIDS FOR THE NORTHWEST AREA WATER MAIN CHLORAMINATION
WHEREAS,on November 5,2018,the Council adopted a Resolution ordering
construction of the Northwest Area Water Main Chloramination;and
WHEREAS,pursuant to said Resolution,the City Clerk was directed to post notice to
bidders not less than thirteen clear days nor more than forty-five days prior to November 28,
2018,the date fixed for receiving bids;and
WHEREAS,a Notice to Bidders was posted indicating the deadline for submission of
bids would be before 2:00 p.m.on November 28,2018 and the results of the bids would be
considered at a meeting of the Council on December 3,2018;and
WHEREAS,the Project Engineer recommended that the deadline for submission of bids
be postponed to before 2:00 p.m.on December 12 and the results of the bids be considered by
the Council on December 17;and
WHEREAS,a revised Notice to Bidders indicating the new deadline for submission of
bids was posted once in a relevant contractor plan room service with statewide circulation and a
relevant construction lead generating service with statewide circulation and on an internet site
sponsored by either the City or a statewide association that represents the City on November 20
and 21,2018.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WAUKEE,IOWA:
Section 1.That the actions of the Project Engineer in changing the time and date for the
receipt of bids to before 2:00 p.m.on December 12,2018 is hereby ratified,confirmed,and
approved.
Section 2.That the actions of the City Clerk in posting an amended notice to bidders
once in a relevant contractor plan room service with statewide circulation and a relevant
construction lead generating service with statewide circulation and on an internet site sponsored
by either the City or a statewide association that represents the City not less than thirteen clear
days nor more than forty-five days prior to December 12,2018,which is hereby fixed as the date
for receiving bids,is hereby ratified,confirmed,and approved.The bids are to be filed prior to
2:00 P.M.,on such date.
Section 4.That the form of the amended Notice to Bidders for the Northwest Area
Water Main Chloramination is hereby ratified,confirmed,and approved.
