RESOLUTION REJECTING BIDS FOR THE NORTHWEST
AREA WATER MAIN CHLORAMINATION
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,
STATE OF IOWA:
WHEREAS,on the 20'"day of November,2018,plans,specifications,form of contract
and estimate of cost were filed with the Clerk for the construction of certain public
improvements described in general as the Northwest Area Water Main Chloramination;
WHEREAS,on November 5,2018.the Council determined that it was necessary and
advisable to construct certain public improvements described in general as the Northwest Area
Water Main Chloramination;
WHEREAS,notice of hearing on plans,specifications,form of contract and estimate of
cost for the public improvements was published as required by law;
WHEREAS,on December 12,2018,the date fixed as the date for receiving bids,the only
bid submitted exceeded the engineer's estimate of cost;and
bid.
WHEREAS,the Council has determined it is in the best interest of the City to reject the
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WAUKEE,STATE OF IOWA:
Section 1.That the bid received for the construction of certain public improvements
described in general as construction of the Northwest Area Water Main Chloramination,be and
is hereby rejected.
PASSED AND APPROVED this 17th day of Decemb r,2018.
