RESOLUTION 19-123
APPROVING THE TEMPORARY CLOSING OF CERTAIN PUBLIC STREETS FOR
THE WAUKEE 4 "OF JULY CELEBRATION
IN THE NAME AND BY THE A UTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WA UKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,the Waukee Parks and Recreation Department requests the following temporary
closures of specific public streets for activities associated with the 4"of July Celebration:
~Parade;The temporary closing of Locust Street from 5'"Street west to 7'"Street;7'"
Street from Locust Street north to Ashworth Drive;Ashworth Drive from 7'"Street south
and east to 4'"Street;4'"Street from Ashworth Drive south to Northview Drive;
Northview Drive from 4'f'Street east to S.Warrior Lane;S.Warrior Lane from
Northview Drive south to SE Park Road where the parade participants will disburse,
beginning 2:00 p.m.and ending when the parade is concluded on Thursday,July 4,2019.

Lane east to SE Waddell Way and S.Warrior Lane from SE University Avenue north to
SE Park Road beginning 8:30 p.m.and ending 10:30 p.m.on Thursday,July 4,2019;
with a "rain date"temporary closing of the same said streets at the same said times on
Friday,July 5,2019;AND,
WHEREAS,pursuant to )364.12(2)(a),public ways and grounds may be temporarily closed by
resolution;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this
15rg day of April,2019,that it hereby approves the temporary closing of certain public streets for
the Waukee 4'"of July Celebration.
