APPROVING A LETTER OF UNDERSTANDING WITH COMMUNICATIONS WORKERS
OF AMERICA (CWA)REGARDING ADDITION OF THE POSITION OF CITY PLANNER II
TO THE JULY 1,2013 -JUNE 30,2016 CONTRACT
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee,Dallas County,State ofIowa,is a duly organized Municipal
Organization;AND,
WHEREAS,on November 5,2012,the Waukee City Council approved a Collective Bargaining
Agreement with the Communications Workers of America (CWA),Local #7102,AFL-CIO,in effect
July 1,2013 through JlU1e30,2016 (Resolution #12-245);AND,
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee and representatives of CW A,Local #7102,have reviewed and
approve a Letter of Understanding for the current Collective Bargaining Agreement related to the
addition of the position of City Planner IIto the bargaining unit;)'.ND;
WHEREAS,the Letter of Understanding is attached hereto and by reference incorporated herein;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this 16th
day of September,2013,that the Letter of Understanding with Communications Workers of America
(CWA)regarding addition of the position of City Planner II to the July 1,2013 -June 30,2016
Contract is hereby approved.

This letter modifies the July 1,2013 to June 30,2016,Collective Bargaining Agreement ("CBA")between
the Communication Workers of America,Local 7102,AFL-CIO("Union")and the City of Waukee,Iowa
("City").The purpose of the letter is to acknowledge that the City and the Union have mutually agreed
to the inclusion ofthe position of City Planner IIto the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
Specifically both parties have reviewed and agreed to replace AppendiX A -Wages as revised 7-1-13
(attached as Item IB)with AppendiX A -Wages as revised 9-16-13 (attached as item Ie).

This Letter of Understanding serves as notice of the full inclusion of the position of City Planner II into
