RESOLUTION 13-277
APPROVING FY2015 BUDGET DIRECTIVES
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee,Iowa is a duly organized municipality within Dallas County;
AND,
WHEREAS,to provide guidance for the development of the City of Waukee FY2015 budget
and present a fiscally responsible budget to the City Council,the following budget directives are
approved:
1)Maintain City's current $13.50 tax levy;
2)Promote growth of commercial taxable valuations;
3)Provide transparency in budget documents and public meetings;
4)Find optimal level to determine the timing of equipment replacement;
5)Maximize the amount of outside funding for capital projects and operating costs;
6)Allocate existing staff resource capacity toward increasing service levels;
7)Minimize the levels of enterprise funds'future rate increases and fee structures;
8)Maintain financially sound enterprise funds to meet bond coverage ratios;
9)Increase the level of sustainability of general fund programs and services;
10)Evaluate and set development rates and fees to be comparable to adjacent
communities;and
11)Position the City toward a two-year budget beginning FY20 15-2016.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this
21st day of October,2013,that it hereby approve the FY2015 budget directives.
