RESOLUTION 14-DJO
APPROVING COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTOR JOB DESCRIPTION AND
SALARY RANGE
IN THE NAME AND BY THE A UTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee,Dallas County,State ofIowa,is a duly organized Municipal
Organization;AND,
WHEREAS,in order to implement a comprehensive connmmication strategy and to increase the
effectiveness of Waukee's communication with others,City staff believes it is in the best interest
of the City to add the position of Communications Director;AND,
WHEREAS,the Director of Finance has determined there is capacity to fund the position within
the current fiscal year budget;AND,
WHEREAS,the Communications Director will be a Grade 4 position with a salary range of
$63,852 to $88,560 for the current fiscal year;AND,
WHEREAS,the City Administrator,Human ReSOlUTesDirector and certain City staff have
examined the duties to be fulfilled by this position and reconnnend approval of the proposed j ob
description and salary range.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waukee,Iowa on
this 6th day of January,2014,that it hereby approves the Communications Director job
description and salary range.
