RESOLUTION 14-042
APPROVING THE MAYOR'S APPOINTMENT OF JOHN F.QUINN AS
CHIEF OF POLICE BEGINNING MARCH 16,2014 AND THROUGH THE
REMAINDER OF CALENDAR YEAR 2014
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee is a duly organized municipality within Dallas County;
AND,
WHEREAS,Chief of Police Larry J.Phillips will retire on March 15,2014,after 35
years of distinguished service to the City of Waukee;AND,
WHEREAS,on October 7,2013,the Waukee City Council approved a contract with
Brimeyer Fursman,LLC,for Chief of Police executive search services (Resolution #13-
253);AND,
WHEREAS,after conducting interviews with five finalists for the position,Mayor Peard
appoints J olm F.Quinn to the position of Chief of Police beginning March 16,2014;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Waukee,Iowa on the
3,-dof February,2014,does hereby approve the mayor's appointment of John F.Quinn as
Chief of Police beginning March 16,2014 and through the remainder of calendar year
2014.
