RESOLUTION 13-323
RECOGNIZING THE SERVICE OF MIKE WATTS TO THE
CITY OF WAUKEE
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,Mike Watts has served in his current term as a Waukee City Council Member since
January 2006;AND,
WHEREAS,he also served as a Waukee City Council Member from 2000-2003;AND,
WHEREAS,while serving on the City Council,Mike has acted as council liaison to many
boards,including those related to parks and recreation,utilities,library,development,housing,
school district relations,and personnel;AND,
WHEREAS,Mike frequently was a member of the City of Waukee delegation on various trips
to Washington,D.C.,that successfully sought federal funding for the Alice's Road/IOSth Street 1-
80 Interchange and the Alice's Road Corridor;AND,
WHEREAS,this year,the City of Waukee broke ground on the Alice's Road Corridor Project,
Ashworth Road to University Avenue -all event that would not have taken place if not for
Mike's dedication,hard work and influence;AND,
WHEREAS,as both an elected official and citizen,he has worked tirelessly to make Waukee
the vibrant and thriving community it is today.
NOW THEREFORE be it resolved by the City of Waukee Mayor and City Council in session
this 16th day of December,2013,that it hereby approves the expression of appreciation to Mike
Watts for his years of service to the citizens of Waukee.
