RESOLUTION RATIFYING AND CONFIRMING
RESOLUTION APPROVING CONSTRUCTION
CONTRACT AND BOND FOR THE TRAFFIC
SIGNALIZATION/TRAIL -SE ALICES ROAD (HDP-
8177(617)--71-25)SE ASHWORTH ROAD TO SE
UNIVERSITY AVENUE,WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,on the 7th day of April,2014,the City Council adopted a Resolution
approving construction contract and bond for the Traffic Signalization/Trail -SE Alices
Road (HDP-8l77(617)--71-25)SE Ashworth Road to SE University Avenue,Waukee,
Iowa,contingent upon signing of the contract by the contactor and receiving the
performance bond and certificate of insurance;
WHEREAS,the City has now received the contract executed by the contractor;
and
WHEREAS,the City has now received the performance bond and certificate of
insurance;and
WHEREAS,the City Attorney has now reviewed and approved of the contract,the
performance bond,and the certificate of insurance.
NOW,THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WAUKEE,STATE OF IOWA:
Section 1.That the April 7,2014 Resolution Approving Construction Contract and
Bond is hereby ratified and confirmed.
Section 2.That the construction contract and bond executed and insurance
coverage for the construction of certain public improvements described in general as the
Traffic Signalization/Trail -SE Alices Road (HDP-8177(617)--71-25)SE Ashworth
Road to SE University Avenue,Waukee,Iowa,and as described in detail in the plans and
specifications heretofore approved,and which have been signed by the Mayor and Clerk
on behalf of the City be and the same are hereby approved as follows:
Contractor:Howrey Construction,Inc.of Rockwell City,Iowa
Amount of bid:$1,385,112.70-==-'-=-"-=-'c::...:.::..:..:.-"---_
Bond surety:Merchants Bonding Company (Mutual)
