RESOLUTION 14-117
APPROVAL OF THE TEMPORARY ONE-WAY TRAFFIC DESIGNATION OF
VARIOUS STREETS AND THE TEMPORARY CLOSING OF VARIOUS STREETS ON
FRIDAY,JUNE 27,2014 THROUGH SUNDAY,JUNE 29,2014,FOR THE PURPOSE
OF THE BACOON BIKE RIDE
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,Centennial Park in Waukee will act as the beginning and end point for the Bacoon
Bike Ride on Saturday,June 28,2014;AND,
WHEREAS,Centennial Park shall also serve as a camping site for Bacoon Bike Ride
participants the evening of Friday,June 27,2014;AND,
WHEREAS,in an effort to improve traffic flow and increase safety for the overnight stay in
Centennial Park and the Bacoon Bike Ride,the following streets shall be temporarily designated
as either one-way streets or temporarily closed:
One-Way Streets
•Temporary designation of Ashworth Drive from University Avenue to Warrior Lane
as a one-way street,with the direction of traffic moving northward and westward,
from 3:00 p.m.to 10:00 p.m.on Friday,June 27,2014
•Temporary designation of Park Road from Ashworth Drive to Warrior Lane as a one-
way street,with the direction of traffic moving westward,from 7:00 a.m.on Friday,
June 27,2014 to 9:00 a.m.on Sunday,June 29,2014
Street Closings
•Temporary closing of Warrior Lane from University Avenue to Ashworth
DrivelNorthview Drive from 7:00 a.m.to 9:00 a.m.on Saturday,June 28,2014
•Temporary closing of Ashworth Drive from Warrior Lane to 10th Street from 7:00
a.m.to 9:00 a.m.on Saturday,June 28,2014
•Police controlled crossings at the intersections of Ashworth Drive/4th Street and
Ashworth Drive/6th Street from 7:00 a.m.to 9:00 a.m.on Saturday,June 28,2014;
AND,
WHEREAS,pursuant to §364.12(2)(a),public ways and grounds maybe temporarily closed by
resolution;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOL YED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this
19th day of May,2014,that it hereby approves the temporary one-way traffic designation of
various streets and the temporary closing of various streets on Friday,Ju e 27,2014 through
Sunday,June 29,2014,for the purpose of the Bacoon Bike Ride.
