APPROVING THK TEMPORARY CLOSING OF CERTAIN PORTIONS OF STREETS
FOR THE WAUKEK FEST PARADE)WITH SAID STREET CLOSINGS BEGINNING
AT 10:00 A.M.ON SATURDAY,AUGUST 23,2014,WITH THK PARADE ROUTE
RUNNING FROM WAUKEK MIDDLE SCHOOL (905 WARRIOR LANK)NORTH ON
WARRIOR I.ANK TO NORTHVIEW DRIVE;WEST ON NORTHVIKW DRIVE TO
FOURTH STREET;NORTH ON FOURTH STREET TO ASHWORTH DRIVE;AND
WEST ON ASHWORTH DRIVE TO FIFTH STREET WHERE THK PA:RADK
PARTICIPANTS WILL DISBURSE TO THE NORTH ON FIFTH STREET
IN THE NAME AND BY THE A UTHOMTY OF THE CITY OF WA UICEE,
IONIA
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee will host Waukee Fest on Saturday,August 23,2014,in the
Downtown Triangle area;AND,
WHEREAS,the Waukee Fest parade is planned to follow a certain route on public streets;
AND,
WHEREAS,pursuant to $364.12(2)(a),public ways and grounds may be temporarily closed by
resolution;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this
21"day of July,2014,that it hereby approves the temporary closing of certain portions of streets
for the W'aukee Fest Parade,with said street closings beginning at 10:00 a.m.on Saturday,
August 23,2014,with the parade route running from Waukee Middle School (905 Warrior Lane)
north on Warrior Lane to Northview Drive;west on Northview Drive to Fourth Street;north on
Fourth Street to Ashworth Drive;and west on Ashworth Drive to Fifth Street where the parade
participants will disburse to the north on Fifth Street.
