RESOLUTION 14-220
APPROVING THK APPLICATION OF KXPRKSS LOGISTICS TO THK IOWA
ECONOMIC DKVKLOPMKNT AUTHORITY HIGH QUALITY JOBS PROGRAM
IN THE NAME AND BY THE A UTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WA UEEE,ZO8'A
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee,Dallas County,State of Iowa,is a duly organized
Municipal Organization;AND,
~RKAS,the City of Waukee has received a request by Express Logistics to approve and
submit an application to the State of Iowa for the High Quality Jobs Program;AND,
WHKRKAS,the programs were established to promote Economic Development and Job
Creation in the State of Iowa;AND,
WHKRKAS,the City Council supports activities which promote and facilitate Economic
Development within Waukee;AND,
WHEREAS,Express Logistics had indicated they will:
1.Create 21 new full-time,or career positions.
2.Provide comprehensive health benefits to its employees.
3.Make a capital investment of approximately $1,350,300.00
NOW,THEREFORE,BK IT RKSOLVKD by the City of %aukee:
a.The Waukee City Council approves the application of Express Logistics for the
purpose of receiving benefits from the High Quality Jobs Program.
b.The Waukee City Council approves the local match policy requirement of the Iowa
Economic Development Authority and approves a local match in the approximate
amount of $26,000.00.
c.If at the end of tluee (3)year period defined in the contract between Iowa Economic
Development Authority (IEDA)and Express Logistics if the required jobs are not
created then Express Logistics will be required to pay back the local match on a pro-
rata basis.
d.The Waukee City Council authorizes the Mayor and City Administrator/Clerk to take
such further actions as deemed necessary in order to carry into effect the provisions of
this Resolution.
