APPROVAL OF THE TEMPORARY CLOSING OF CERTAIN PORTIONS OF STREETS
FROM THK VINCE MKYKR LEAR1'tING CENTER PARKING LOT WEST ON LOCUST TO
SIXTH STREET,NORTH ON SIXTH STREET TO ASHWORTH DRIVE,EAST ON
ASHWORTH DRIVE TO FOURTH STREET,SOUTH ON FOURTH STREET TO
NORTHVIKW;EAST ON NORTHVIKW TO WARRIOR LANK,SOUTH ON WARRIOR
LANK TO WAUKEK MIDDLE SCHOOL PARKING LOT FOR THK WAUKKE
COMMUNITY SCHOOL DISTRICT HOMECOMING PARADE,WITH SAID STREET
CLOSING BETWEEN THK HOURS OF 6:00 P.M.AND APPROXIMATELY 7:00 P.M.ON
THURSDAY',OCTOBER 2,2014
IN THE NAME AND BY THE A UTHOMTY OF THE CITY OF 8'2 UKEE,IOP'A
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee,Iowa is a duly organized municipality within Dallas County;AND,
WHEREAS,Waukee High School will have its 2014 homecoming football game on the evening of
Friday,October 3;AND,
WHEREAS,as part of the homecoming festivities,the Waukee High School student council has
scheduled a parade to be held on Thursday,October 2,2014,and requests that certain streets be closed
temporarily for the parade route;AND,
WHEREAS,pursuant to $364.12(2)(a),public ways and grounds may be temporarily closed by
resolution.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this 2"day
of September,2014,that it hereby approves the temporary closing of certain portions of streets from
the Vince Meyer Learning Center parking lot west on Locust to Sixth Street,north on Sixth Street to
Ashworth Drive,east on Ashworth Drive to Fourth Street,south on Fourth Street to Northview;east on
Northview to Warrior Lane,south on Warrior Lane to Waukee Middle School Parking lot for the
Waukee Conununity School District Homecoming Parade,with said street closing between the hours
of 6:00 p.m.and approximately 7:00 p.m.on Thursday,October 2,2014.
