RESOLUTION 14-242
AUTHORIZING THK SUBMITTAL OF A GRANT APPLICATION TO THE
FEDERAL RECREATIONAL TRAILS GRANT ON BEHALF OF THK CITY OF
WAUKEE AND THK WAUKEK TRAILHKAD PUBLIC ART PROJECT
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WA USE,IOSM
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee,Dallas County,State of Iowa,is a duly organized
Municipal Organization;AND,
WHEREAS,the provision of open spaces,parks and trails is an essential function of city
government;AND,
WHEREAS,the Raccoon River Valley Trailhead Public Art Committee requests
authorization from the City of Waukee to apply for grant funding for the Federal Recreational
Trails program for the installation of a public art piece and related amenities at the Waukee
trailhead in order to increase the enjoyment of users of the Raccoon River Valley trail system.
NOW THEREFORE BK IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council that it
hereby authorizes the submittal of a grant application to the Federal Recreational Trails Grant
on behalf of the City of Waukee and the Waukee Trailhead Public Art Project.
Passed by the City Council of the City of Waukee,Iowa,and approved the 15"'ay of
September,2014.
