RESOLUTION 14-241
AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL OF A GRANT APPLICATION TO THK
TRANSPORTATION ALTERNATIVES PROGRAM ON BEHALF OF THK CITY OF
WAUKEK AND THE WAUKKK TRAILHEAD PUBLIC ART PROJECT
IN THE NAME AND BY THE A UTHORITY OF THE CITY OF 8'A USE,IOP'A
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee,Dallas County,State of Iowa,is a duly organized
Municipal Organization;AND,
WHEREAS,the provision of open spaces,parks and trails is an essential function of city
government;AND,
WHEREAS,the Raccoon River Valley Trailhead Public Wt Committee requests
authorization fiom the City of Waukee to apply for grant funding for the Transportation
Alternatives Program for the installation of a public art piece and related amenities at the
Waukee trailhead in order to increase the enjoyment of users of the Raccoon River Valley
trail system.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council that it
hereby authorizes the submittal of a grant application to the Transportation Alternatives
Program on behalf of the City of Waukee and the Waukee Trailhead Public Art Project.
Passed by the City Council of the City of Waukee,Iowa,and approved the 15'"day of
September,2014.
