RESOLUTION 14-3Q2
APPROVING FY2Q16 BUDGET DIRECTIVES
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF 8'A USE,IO8'A
%HKRKAS,the City of Waukee,Iowa is a duly organized municipality within Dallas County;AND,
WHEREAS,to provide guidance for the development of the City of Waukee FY2016 budget and
present a fiscally responsible budget to the City Council,the following budget directives are approved:
1)Maintain City's current $13.50 tax levy;
2)Promote growth of commercial taxable valuations;
3)Provide transparency in budget documents and public meetings;
4)Implement a two-year budget begimiing with FY16;
5)Find optimal level to determine the timing of equipment replacement;
6)Review operating line items to determine value added to City operations;
7)Allocate existing staff resource capacity toward increasing service levels;
8)Maximize the amount of outside funding for capital projects and operating costs;
9)Minimize the levels of enterprise funds'future rate increases and fee structures;
10)Maintain financially sound enterprise funds to meet bond coverage ratios;
NOW THEREFORE BK IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session tliis 20'"
day of October,2014,that it hereby approves the FY2016 budget directives.
