RESOLUTION 14-334
AUTHORIZING THK SUBMITTAL OF A GRANT APPLICATION TO THE
BLOOMBERG PHILANTHROPIES PUBLIC ART CHALLENGE ON BEHALF OF
THE CITY OF WAUKKK AND THK WAUKEK TRAILHKAD PUBLIC
ART PROJECT
IN THE NAME AND BY THE A UTHOMTY OF THE CITY OF JFA UKEE,IOPVA
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee,Dallas County,State of Iowa,is a duly organized
Municipal Organization;AND,
WHEREAS,the provision of open spaces,parks and trails is an essential function of city
governinent;AND,
WHEREAS,the Raccoon River Valley Trailhead Public Art Conmuttee has identified the
Bloomberg Phiiantliropies Public Art Challenge as a potential funding source for construction
of the project structures and related site improvements;AND,
WHEREAS,the $250,000 grant request does not include or require any additional funding by
the City of Waukee.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council that it
hereby authorizes the submittal of a grant application to the Bloomberg Philantliropies Public
Art Challenge on behalf of the City of Waukee and the Waukee Trailhead Public Art Project.
Passed by the City Council of the City of Waukee,Iowa,and approved the 1"day of
December,2014.
