RESOLUTION 15-027
AUTHORIZING AN APPLICATION FOR FUNDING FROM THE FEDERAL
TRANSPORTATION ALTERNATIVES PROGRAM (TAP)TO THK DKS MOINES
AREA METROPOLITAN PLANNING ORGANIZATION (MPO)FOR THK PURPOSE
OF ASSISTING IN THK FUNDING OF CONSTRUCTION OF THE WAUKKK
TRAILHKAD PUBLIC ART AND AMENITIES PROJECTS LOCATED AT THE
INTERSECTION OF HICKMAN ROAD (HIGHWAY 6)AND 10 STREET (R-22)AND
FURTHER APPROVING THK APPLICATION WHICH OBLIGATKS THK CITY OF
WAUKKK TO PROVIDE MATCHING FUNDS FOR THK CONSTRUCTION OF SAID
PROJECT
IN THE NAME AND BY THE A UTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WA USE,IOPM
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee,Dallas County,State of Iowa,is a full member of the Des
Moines Area Metropolitan Plamung Organization;AND,
WHEREAS,the Federal Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP)provides funding to local
jurisdictions for the construction of eligible projects;AND,
WHEREAS,the program is administered by the Des Moines Area Metropolitan Planning
Organization which prioritizes and ranks all project applications.
NOW THEREFORE BK IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of %aukee,Iowa in
session this 19'"day of January,2015,that:
1.The Waukee City Council supports and approves the attached application for Federal
Transportation Alternatives Program funding.
2.The Waukee City Council hereby co+units the City of Waukee to provide matching
Ands,secured through public and private investment,as required by the Federal
Transportation Alternatives Program.
3,The City of Waukee hereby commits to accepting and maintaining these
improvements,once completed,for a minimum of twenty (20)years following the
completion,
4.The Mayor of Waukee is hereby authorized to approve and execute the application on
behalf of the Waukee City Council.
