RESOLUTION 15-260
SUPPORTING AN IOWA DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES
ENHANCEMENT AND PROTECTION FUND (REAP)GRANT APPLICATION
RELATED TO THE RACCOON RIVER VALLEY TRAILHEAD PUBLIC ART
PROJECT
IN THENAMEANDBYTHEAUTHORITYOF THE CITYOF 8'AUKEE,IONIA
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee,Dallas County,State of Iowa,is a duly organized
Municipal Organization;AND,
WHEREAS,the provision of open spaces,parks and trails is an essential function of city
government;AND,
WHEREAS,the Raccoon River Valley Trailhead Public Art Committee and Waukee City
staff recommend applying for REAP grant funding for the installation of a public art piece
and related amenities at the Waukee trailhead in order to increase the enjoyment of users of
the Raccoon River Valley trail system.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council that it
hereby supports the Resource Enhancement and Protection (REAP)grant application for the
Raccoon River Valley Trailhead Public Art Project.
Passed by the City Council of the City of Waukee,Iowa,and approved the 3'"day of August,
2015.
