APPROVING THE TEMPORARY CLOSING OF CERTAIN PORTIONS OF STREETS
FOR THE CELEBRATE WAUKEE FESTIVAL PARADE,WITH SAID STREET
CLOSINGS BEGINNING AT 10:00 A.M.ON SATURDAY,JUNK 6,2015,WITH THE
PARADE ROUTE RUNNING FROM THE VINCE MEYKR LEARNING CENTER
PARKING LOT WEST ON LOCUST STREET TO 6 STREET;NORTH ON 6
STREET TO ASHWORTH DRIVE;SOUTHEAST ON ASHWORTH DRIVE TO 4 "
STREET;SOUTH ON 4 STREET TO NORTHVIEW DRIVE;EAST ON
NORTHVIKW DRIVE TO WARRIOR LANE;SOUTH ON WARRIOR LANK TO PARK
ROAD WHERE THK PARADE PARTICIPANTS WILL DISBURSE
INTHENAMEANDBYTHEAUTHOIUTYOF THE CITYOF WAUKEE,108'A
WHEREAS,the Celebrate Waukee Planning Committee requests the temporary closure of
specific public streets for a parade associated with the Celebrate Waukee Festival;AND,
WHEREAS,the temporary street closures for the parade shall begin at 10:00 a.m.on Saturday,
June 6,2015,with the parade route running from the Vince Meyer Learning Center parking lot
west on Locust Street to 6'h Street;north on 6th Street to Ashworth Drive;southeast on Ashworth
Drive to 4 Street;south on 4 Street to Northview Drive;east on Northview Drive to Warriorthth
Lane;south on Warrior Lane to Park Road where the parade participants will disburse;AND,
WHEREAS,pursuant to tJ364.12(2)(a),public ways and grounds may be temporarily closed by
resolution;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this
4'h day of May,2015,that it hereby approves closing temporarily those portions of streets that
are part of the parade route,which starts at the Vince Meyer Learning Center and ends at
Centennial Park.
