RESOLUTION 15-140
APPROVAL OF THE TEMPORARY CLOSING OF CERTAIN PUBLIC STREETS
BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 8:30 P.M.AND 10:30P.M.ON SATURDAY,JUNE 6,2015,AND
ON SATURDAY,JULY 4,2015,FOR THK PURPOSE OF FIREWORKS DISPLAYS
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF Wzl UKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee,Iowa is a duly organized municipality within Dallas County;AND,
WHEREAS,City staff requests the following temporary closings of certain public streets between the
hours of 8:30 p.rn.and 10:30p.m.on Saturday,June 6,2015,and on Saturday,July 4,2015,for the
purpose of Celebrate Waukee and 4"of July fireworks displays:
~SE University Avenue from S.Warrior Lane east to SE L.A.Grant Parkway,and
~S.Warrior Lane from SE University Avenue north to SE Park Road;AND,
WHEREAS,pursuant to tJ364.12(2)(a),public ways and grounds may be temporarily closed by
resolution.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Waukee City Council in session this 18"day of
May,2015,that it hereby approves the temporary closing of those public streets specified above
between the hours of 8:30 p.m.and 10:30p.m.on Saturday,June 6,2015,and on Saturday,July 4,
2015,for the purpose of fireworks displays.
