AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF WAUKKE,IOWA TO MAKE AN APPLICATION TO
THE IOWA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION IOWA'S CLEAN AIR
ATTAINMKNT PROGRAM FOR THE PARTIAL FUNDING OF THK GRAND
PRAIRIE PARKWAY CORRIDOR PHASE 4 PROJECT AND FURTHER APPROVING
THE APPLICATION WHICH OBLIGATES THE CITY TO MATCHING FUNDS FOR
THE CONSTRUCTION OF SAID PROJECT
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF I'AUKEE,I08'A
WHEREAS,the Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21"Century Act (MAP-21)established a
Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Improvement (CMAQ)program;and
WHEREAS,said program allows for funding to be provided to local jurisdictions for eligible
transportation projects or programs that will contribute to meeting attainment of National
Ambient Air Quality Standards;and
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee has determined that corridor improvements on Alice's Road
from University Avenue north to 400 feet north of SE Olson Drive will help reduce vehicle
pollutant outputs.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this
8"day of September,2015,that:
1.The City Council supports and approves the application for Iowa Clean Air
Attainment Program funding.
2.The City Council hereby commits the additional City funds necessary for
construction of the project beyond any Iowa Clean Air Attainment Program funding.
3.The City Council hereby commits to accepting and maintaining these improvements.
4.The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute the application on behalf of the City.
