RESOLUTION 15-426
AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL OF A GRANT APPLICATION TO THK IOWA
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY (IEDA)COMMUNITY ATTRACTION
AND TOURISM GRANT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE AND THE
WAUKKE TRAILHEAD PUBLIC ART PROJECT
INTHENAMEANDBYTHEAUTHORITYOF THECITYOF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee,Dallas County,State of Iowa,is a duly organized Municipal
Organization;AND,
WHEREAS,the provision of open spaces,parks and trails is an essential function of city
government;AND,
WHEREAS,the Raccoon River Valley Trailhead Public Art Committee has identified the Iowa
Economic Development Authority (IEDA)Community Attraction and Tourism Grant as a
potential funding source for construction of the project structures and related site improvements;
AND,
WHEREAS,the $250,000 grant request does not require any additional funding commitment by
the City of Waukee.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council that it hereby
authorizes the submittal of a grant application to the Iowa Economic Development Authority
(IEDA)Community Attraction and Tourism Grant program on behalf of the City of Waukee and
the Waukee Trailhead Public Art Project.
Passed by the City Council of the City of Waukee,Iowa,and approved the 1"day of December,
2015.
