RESOLUTION 15-421
APPROVING THE CONTINUATION OF THK PAPKRLKSS
COUNCIL MEETING INITIATIVE
IN THE NAME AND BY THEA UTHORITYOF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee,Dallas County,State of iowa,is a duly organized Municipal
Organization;AND,
WHEREAS,on April 16,2012,the Waukee City Council approved a "Sustainable Waukee —Paperless
Council Meetings"initiative in an effort to eliminate the need for paper copies of council meeting
informational packets (Resolution ¹12-95);AND,
WHEREAS,the Waukee City Council desires to continue the initiative;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Waukee City Council on this,the 21"day of
December,2015,that the mayor and each council member shall be eligible for an expense reimbursement,
once per term,of an amount not to exceed $500 towards the purchase of a personal electronic device
capable of receiving email and viewing council packet material and other City documents;AND;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that reimbursement shall be subject to repayment to the City by each
recipient,as follows:60%if elected official no longer holds office during the first year of their term,50%
if elected official no longer holds office during the second year of their term,and 25%if elected official
no longer holds office during the third year of their term;AND,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that in lieu of such repayment to the City,an elected official may
transfer ownership of the device to the City upon leaving office.
