RESOLUTION MAKING AWARD OF CONSTRUCTION
CONTRACT FOR THE NE DOUGLAS PARKWAY
EXTENSION FROM NE ALICES ROAD WEST 560 FEET
WHEREAS,the City has entered an Intergovernmental Agreement with the City
of Clive,Iowa to provide for the joint exercise of their respective powers in connection
with the construction of certain roadway improvements at the intersection of Douglas
Parkway and Alice's Road;and
WHEREAS,the Cities agreed that the City of Waukee will not enter into a
construction contract until the bids for the improvements have been considered and a bid
accepted by the respective city councils for the City of Clive and the City of Waukee;
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,
STATE OF IOWA:
Section 1.That the following bid for the construction of certain public improvements
described in general as the NE Douglas Parkway Extension From NE Alices Road West 560
Feet,described in the plans and specifications heretofore adopted by this Council on March 14,
2016,be and is hereby accepted,the same being the lowest responsive,responsible bid received
for such work,as follows:
Contractor:Hawkeye Paving Corp.of Bettendorf,IA
Amount of bid:$889,280.00
Portion of project:All construction work
Section 2.That the Mayor and Clerk are hereby directed to execute the contract with the
contractor for the construction of the public improvements,after receiving confirmation of the
City of Clive's City Council's consideration and acceptance of the same bid.
Section 3.That such contract is not binding on the City until approved by this Council.
PASSED AND APPROVED this 14th day of March,2016.
