RESOLUTION 16-153
APPROVING LEASE —BUSINESS PROPERTY BETWEEN THE CITY OF WAUKEE,
IOWA;WAUKEK POST 11517VETERANS OF FOREIGN WARS OF THE UNITED
STATES,INC4 AND WAUKEK POST 737,THE AMERICAN LEGION,DEPARTMENT OF
IOWA,INC.(410 6 'STREET)
IN THE NAME AND BY THE A UTHOIUT Y OF THE CITY OF WA UKEE,ION/A
WHEREAS,the City owns the property locally known as 410 6'"St,Waukee,Iowa which the City
formerly offered for use as the Waukee Community Center;AND,
WHEREAS,on April 6,2009,the City Council held public hearing and approved a Lease —Business
Property between the City of Waukee and the Waukee Post 737,the American Legion,Department of
Iowa,Inc.(the "Tenant")(Resolution II09-69);AND,
WHEREAS,the City and Tenant have negotiated a revised lease for the subject property,the terms of
which include the addition of Waukee Post 11517 Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States,Inc.,
as Tenant;AND,
WHEREAS,the City Attorney has reviewed the proposed lease agreement and finds it satisfactory.
BK IT THEREFORE RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waukee that the Lease—
Business Property between the City of Waukee,Iowa;Waukee Post 11517 Veterans of Foreign Wars
of the United States,Inc.;and Waukee Post 737,the American Legion,Department of Iowa,lnc.is
hereby approved for a term to end at midnight on the 28ia day of February,2019,unless terminated in a
manner specified in the lease.
Passed by the City Council of the City of Waukee,Iowa,and approved this the 2"day of May,2016.
