RESOLUTION 16-290
APPROVING APPOINTMKNT TO FILL A VACANT COUNCIL SKAT
WITH A TERM TO EXPIRE DECEMBER 31,2017
IN THE NAME AND BY THE A UTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WA UKEE,IO 8'2
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee,Iowa is a duly organized municipality within Dallas
County;AND,
WHEREAS,on June 6,2016,the Waukee City Council accepted the resignation of
Shane Blanchard from his seat as a member of the City Council,effective June 1,2016;
AND,
WHEREAS,by authorization of the Code of the State of Iowa,Section 372.13(2)(a),the
remaining members of the City Council may fill the vacancy by appointment within 40
days after the vacancy occurs;AND,
WHEREAS,a Notice of the City of Waukee City Council's intent to fill a vacant City
Council seat by appointment was published in the Dallas County News on June 30,2016,
in accordance with the provision of the Code of the State of Iowa,Section 372.13(2)(a).
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in
session this 1 lra day of July,2016,that it hereby appoints Anna Bergman to fill a vacant
City Council seat,effective July 18,2016,with a term to expire December 31,2017.
