WORK SESSION MEETING
May 20, 2021
The work session meeting of the Waukee City Council was called to order by Mayor Clarke at 8:10
a.m. at Waukee City Hall, 230 W. Hickman Rd.
The following members were present: Mayor Courtney Clarke; Council Members Anna Bergman
Pierce, R. Charles Bottenberg, Chris Crone, Larry R. Lyon, Ben Sinclair. Absent: None. (Council
Member Bottenberg left the meeting at 10:05 a.m. and returned at 11:30 a.m.)
Also in attendance: City Administrator Tim Moerman, Development Services Director Brad Deets, City
Clerk Rebecca D. Schuett, Lyle Sumek with Lyle Sumek Associates, Inc.
Work Session: Goal setting and strategic planning for FY2022, first session — Mr. Sumek lead
the council through a review of the FY2021 performance report and the status of the current fiscal
year strategic plan and goals. The council began discussions on economic development, affordable
housing, trees and greenspaces and Civic Campus development.
