SPECIAL MEETING
May 26, 2021
A. Call to Order — The special meeting of the Waukee City Council was called to order by Mayor
Clarke at 12:01 p.m. at Waukee City Hall, 230 W. Hickman Rd.
B. Roll Call — The following members were present: Mayor Courtney Clarke (electronically); Council
Members Anna Bergman Pierce (electronically), Larry R. Lyon, Ben Sinclair (electronically).
Absent: Council Members R. Charles Bottenberg, Chris Crone. (Council Member Crone began
electronic participation at 12:03 p.m.)
Also in attendance: City Clerk Rebecca D. Schuett.
C. Agenda Approval — Council Member Lyon moved to approve the agenda; seconded by Council
Member Sinclair. Results of vote: Ayes: Bergman Pierce, Lyon, Sinclair. Nays: None. Absent:
Bottenberg, Crone. Motion carried 3 — 0 — 2.
D. Action Items:
1) Resolution: Consideration of approval of a resolution approving the temporary
closing of SE Telby Lane from SE Oxford Drive to SE Pembrooke Lane on Friday,
June 4, 2021, between the hours of 2:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. for the purpose of a
neighborhood block party— Council Member Lyon moved to approve the resolution;
seconded by Council Member Sinclair. (Council Member Crone began electronic
participation at 12:03 p.m.) Results of vote: Ayes: Bergman Pierce, Crone, Lyon, Sinclair.
Nays: None. Absent: Bottenberg. Motion carried 4 — 0 — 1. (Resolution #2021-209)
E. Comments
Council Member Lyon moved to adjourn; seconded by Council Member Sinclair. Ayes: All. Nays:
None. Motion carried 4 — 0.
