SPECIAL MEETING
June 16, 2021
A. Call to Order — The special meeting of the Waukee City Council was called to order by Mayor
Clarke at 3:00 p.m. at Waukee City Hall, 230 W. Hickman Rd.
B. Roll Call — The following members were present: Mayor Courtney Clarke (electronically); Council
Members R. Charles Bottenberg (electronically), Chris Crone (electronically), Ben Sinclair
(electronically). Absent: Council Members Anna Bergman Pierce, Larry R. Lyon.
Also in attendance: Assistant City Administrator Brad Deets, Human Resources Director Michelle
Lindsay (electronically), City Clerk Rebecca D. Schuett.
C. Agenda Approval — Council Member Crone moved to approve the agenda; seconded by Council
Member Sinclair. Results of vote Ayes: Bottenberg, Crone, Sinclair. Nays: None. Absent:
Bergman Pierce, Lyon. Motion carried 3 — 0 — 2.
D. Action Items:
1) Resolution: Consideration of approval of a resolution approving temporary use permit
for Bellino Fireworks, Inc. [1100 E. Hickman Road] — Council Member Bottenberg moved
to approve the resolution; seconded by Council Member Sinclair. Assistant City
Administrator Deets briefly reviewed the application. Results of vote: Ayes: Bottenberg,
Crone, Sinclair. Nays: None. Absent: Bergman Pierce, Lyon. Motion carried 3 — 0 — 2.

Council Member Bottenberg moved to adjourn;
Nays: None. Motion carried 3 — 0.
