RESOLUTION 16-232
APPROVING A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING AND SOFTWARE USE
POLICY BETWEEN IOWA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION AND
WESTCOM AGENCIES
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee,Iowa is a duly organized municipality within Dallas County;
AND,
WHEREAS,a Memorandum of Understanding is proposed between the Iowa Department of
Transportation Motor Vehicle Division and Westcom agencies to develop and maintain a web
services-based portal for the electronic submission of reportable crash report data;AND,
WHEREAS,the Memorandum of Understanding is intended to improve highway and public
safety data,increase employee efficiency,enhance employee safety,and maintain accurate and
timely submissions of crash report data to the Iowa Department of Transportation;AND,
WHEREAS,the Waukee Police Department recommends approval of a Memorandum of
Understanding;AND,
WHEREAS,the City Attorney has reviewed the Memorandum of Understanding and finds it
satisfactory.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this
6"day of June,2016,that it hereby approves a Memorandum of Understanding and Software
Use Policy between Iowa Department of Transportation and Westcom Agenc'
