for the Waukee Public Library Stormwater Improvements increasing the
contract amount by $5,225.00.
FORMAT:Motion
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: Change Order No. 4 is for a modular block retaining
wall, storm sewer modifications and additional bio-retention filter rock.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS: The net result of this
Change Order increases the contract price in the amount of $5,225.00.

Mr. Koester,
Please find attached Change Order #4 for the Waukee Public Library Stormwater Improvements. The
change order includes the following items:
• Modular Block Retaining Wall
• Storm Sewer Modifications
• Additional Bioretention Filter Rock
The additional items above will separate one large bio retention sell into two smaller cells and reduce
the elevation difference between the parking lot and the bio retention cell. The result will be a safer bio
retention cell.
We have reviewed the change order items and unit prices, both are line with anticipated amounts. If
City staff concurs with this change, we recommend the City of Waukee approve this change order in the
amount of $5,225 to the construction contract for the Waukee Public Library Stormwater Improvements
with Elder Corporation of Pleasant Hill, IA.

THE CONTRACT IS CHANGED AS FOLLOWS:
Change Order Items CO-4.1, CO-4.2, CO-4.87A are realted to a modifcation of one bio retention cell in the library parking lot. The bio retetenion cell is the
northern most cell in the parking lot. The modification includes adding a retaining wall to segment the bio retention cell into two seperate cells in order to
reduce the elevation difference from the parking lot surface to the bio retention cell surface.
