SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: The construction of the Walnut Creek North Trunk
Sewer Phase 1 and Water Main Extension project includes all materials, labor and equipment
necessary for approximately 3,400 linear feet of 2-inch through 12-inch diameter water main
directional bored in place and in open cut, 2,930 linear feet of 24-inch diameter sanitary sewer in
open cut, 240 linear feet of 24-inch diameter sanitary sewer augured in steel casing, hydrants,
valves, manholes, excavation and backfill, surface restoration and miscellaneous associated work,
including cleanup. This project is included in the proposed FY 2022 Capital Improvements Plan
to be considered for approved by City Council in March 2021 with a total project budget of
$2,104,000.00. This project has a completion date of June 30, 2021.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS, PROPOSED FORM OF
CONTRACT AND ESTIMATE OF COST FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE LITTLE WALNUT CREEK
NORTH TRUNK SEWER – PHASE 1 AND WATER MAIN EXTENSIONS
FOR THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA.
At 5:30 P.M. on the 18th day of January, 2021, the City Council of said City will hold a hearing
and said Council proposes to adopt plans, specifications, form of contract and estimate of
cost and, at the time, date and place specified above, or at such time, date and place as then
may be fixed, to act upon proposals and enter into a contract for the construction of the
following improvements:

EXTENSIONS
Construct Little Walnut Creek North Trunk Sewer – Phase 1 and Water Main
Extensions including all labor, materials and equipment necessary for

The Little Walnut Creek North Trunk Sewer – Phase 1 and Water Main Extensions will be
located along Warrior Lane, south of Meredith Drive and north of NE Badger Lane, in
Waukee, Iowa.
At said hearing, the City Council will consider the plans, specifications, proposed form of
contract, and estimated total cost for the project, the same now being on file in the office of
the City Clerk, reference to which is made for a more detailed and complete description of
the proposed improvements, and at said time and place the said Council will also receive and
consider any objections to said plans, specifications, estimate of cost and form of contract
made by any interested party.
Due to public health concerns and guidance, in accordance with Iowa Code Sections
21.4(1)(b) and 21.8, this meeting of the Waukee City Council will be conducted electronically
as holding the meeting in person is impossible or impractical. However, the public is
encouraged to access the meeting electronically in the manner specified below.
