HomeMy WebLinkAbout2021-01-18-I01S Triumph Park_Change Order 1AGENDA ITEM: CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA CITY COUNCIL MEETING COMMUNICATION MEETING DATE: January 15, 2021 AGENDA ITEM:Consideration of approval of Change Order No. 1 to Larson Construction, Co., Inc., for the Triumph Park Project increasing the contract in the amount of $106,228.27. FORMAT:Consent SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: Change Order No. 1 to Larson Construction, Co., Inc., is for three separate items: Item #1: Work Related to ASI #3. The approved manufacturer of the backstop poles coordinated with the design team to develop a better connection with the backstop wall. The footing for the posts and the walls will now be tied together and will allow for a more stable long-term product. (With the many manufactures that could have bid on this project and each of their support systems being slightly different, we knew there was potential for this change going in.) This is a bigger number because there are 54 locations in the plan that this situation occurs. Total: $78,095.93 Item #2: Work related to RFI #3. In coordination with the structural engineer, the fence supplier, and the metal roof supplier the design team felt it was necessary to adjust the dugout details to add in one additional support column on the front, adjust the concrete block installation around the exterior columns, and modify the roof panels to accommodate the changes. Similar to item #1 this is a minor change to each dugout, but there are 26 of these dugouts that have the same modifications. Total: $25,920.55 Item #3: Changing the Concessions Door Frames A-1002 from 7 5/8” to 1’-0”. It was discovered during the shop drawing process that the door frames specified did not account for the additional wall thickness. This change adjusts the frames to match the thickness. There is one of these doors per concession stand for a total of three to be adjusted. Total: $2,211.79 The quantities completed to date have been reviewed and agreed upon by the contractor, City of Waukee Staff, and Confluence.
