AGENDA ITEM: Consideration of approval of a resolution approving construction
drawings for NW Douglas Parkway Extension
FORMAT: Resolution
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON:
The plan set includes improvements associated with the extension of NW Douglas Parkway. The
improvements include an extension of NW Douglas Parkway west of NW 10th Street, and
installation of water main, storm sewer, and sanitary sewer. The purpose of the extension is to
provide access to a future school site for the Waukee Community School District.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS:
COMMISSION/BOARD/COMMITTEE COMMENT:
STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: Staff is working with the applicant to address all
remaining comments.
RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval of the resolution subject to remaining
staff comments.

RESOLUTION 2021-
APPROVING THE CONSTRUCTION DRAWINGS FOR
NW DOUGLAS PARKWAY EXTENSION
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Dallas County, State of Iowa, is a duly organized Municipal
Organization; AND,
WHEREAS, construction drawings have been submitted to the City for NW Douglas Parkway
Extension; AND,
WHEREAS, the construction drawings have been reviewed by the City Engineer and City staff,
and are found to be in general conformance with section §303 - Land Subdivision Ordinance of
the Waukee Municipal Code.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waukee, Iowa on
this 1st day of March, 2021 that the Construction Drawings for NW Douglas Parkway be
approved subject to remaining staff comments.
