AGENDA ITEM:Consideration of approval of Change Order No. 1 to Elder Corporation
for the NW 2nd Street Construction – NW Venture Drive to NW Douglas
Parkway project increasing the contract price in the amount of
$119,024.50
FORMAT:Consent Agenda
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: Change Order No. 1 is for sanitary sewer gravity
main, water main and fittings, fire hydrant, extra material for storm
sewer, sanitary sewer manhole, and connection to existing sanitary
sewer. Items added to the contract to accommodate the Northwest
Townhomes Plat 1 development will be reimbursed to the City at the
time of final platting of the development.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS: The net result of this
Change Order increases the contract price in the amount of $119,024.50.
Approximately $116,722.00 will be reimbursed to the City.

We have reviewed the submitted quotes from Elder Corporation and they appear to be in order
with current industry pricing. If City Staff concurs with this pricing, we recommend the City of
Waukee Increase the contract price in the amount of $119,024.50 to complete the additional work
associated with Change Order #1. If you have any questions, please contact me.
