SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: MidAmerican Energy proposes to install five 100 Watt
LED equivalent lights on 28’ galvanized steel poles with 6’ masts along SE Laurel Street, west of SE
Alice’s Rd. These lights will be installed on steel poles and will be served by underground conductors
but will be billed to the City at the wood pole, overhead rate.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS: The cost for installation is
$37,082.46.

APPROVING INSTALLATION OF STREETLIGHT PROPOSAL FROM
MIDAMERICAN ENERGY COMPANY [SE LAUREL STREET, WMIS 2860966]
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Dallas County, State of Iowa, is a duly organized
Municipal Organization; AND,
WHEREAS, MidAmerican Energy proposes to install five 100 Watt LED equivalent lights
on 28’ galvanized steel poles with 6’ masts; AND,
WHEREAS, the street lights will be installed on steel poles and will be served by
underground conductors but will be billed to the City at the wood pole, overhead rate at a cost
of $37,082.46;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waukee that
the Installation of Streetlight Proposal from MidAmerican Energy SE Laurel Street, WMIS
2860966] is hereby approved.
Passed by the City Council of the City of Waukee, Iowa, and approved this the 3rd day of
May, 2021.

Enclosed is MidAmerican Energy’s proposal for the installation of five (5) new
streetlights. This proposal includes the installation of streetlights on:
SE Laurel Street in Waukee, IA – WMIS 2860966
We Propose To:
These lights will be installed on steel poles and served by underground conductors, but
will be billed to the city at the wood pole, overhead rate because the developer has agreed
to pay the streetlight facilities charge. The applicant charge for this work is $37,082.46.
MidAmerican Energy Company’s street light proposal is based on the approved street
light analysis provided by the City. MidAmerican Energy Company will install the lights
based on the staked locations provided in the field by the customer.
If this proposal meets with your approval, please sign and return one (1) copy of this
letter. Payment may be withheld until installation is complete.

Upon receipt of your approval, we will prepare work instructions and schedule the
installation of these lights. This proposal is valid for 90 days and if MidAmerican Energy
Company construction has not commenced within 12 months it may be voided.
