HomeMy WebLinkAbout2021-05-17-I01zJJ Kettlestone Apartments Rezoning_Set PH AGENDA ITEM: CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA CITY COUNCIL MEETING COMMUNICATION MEETING DATE: May 17, 2021 AGENDA ITEM: Consideration of approval of a Motion to set a Public Hearing Date of June 21, 2021, as the date of public hearing on an ordinance to amend Chapter 169, Zoning Ordinance, City of Waukee, Iowa, by rezoning certain property from K-OF Kettlestone Office District / PD-1 Planned Development Overlay to K-MF Stacked High Kettlestone Multi-Family Stacked High / PD-1 Planned Development Overlay [Kettlestone Apartments] FORMAT: Motion SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: Staff has received a request for rezoning of approximately 2.28-acres of property from K-OF/PD-1 to K-MF Stacked High/PD-1. The property is located north of SE Encompass Drive and west of Grand Prairie Parkway. The applicant has received the required 50.1% consent from adjoining property owners to request that a public hearing be set by the City Council. FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS: COMMISSION/BOARD/COMMITTEE COMMENT: STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: Staff would recommend approval of the City Council setting the public hearing date for June 21, 2021 to discuss this matter further. Council action to set the public hearing date does not indicate support for the project. Rather, it represents the Council’s willingness to allow the public hearing process to continue.
