AGENDA ITEM:Consideration of approval of a resolution approving Streetlight Proposal from
MidAmerican Energy Company [NE Douglas Parkway, WMIS 2877616]
FORMAT:Resolution
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: MidAmerican Energy proposes installation of streetlights
on NE Douglas Parkway, east of Warrior Ln, as part of the NE Douglas Pkwy Extension capital
improvements project.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS: The lights will be installed on
steel poles and served by underground conductors and billed to the City at the wood pole, overhead
rate. The cost for installation is $38,635.30.

APPROVING INSTALLATION OF STREETLIGHT PROPOSAL FROM
MIDAMERICAN ENERGY COMPANY [NE DOUGLAS PARKWAY, WMIS
2877616]
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Dallas County, State of Iowa, is a duly organized
Municipal Organization; AND,
WHEREAS, MidAmerican Energy proposes to install streetlights on NE Douglas Parkway to
accommodate the NE Douglas Parkway Extension project; AND,
WHEREAS, the street lights will be installed on steel poles and will be served by
underground conductors but will be billed to the City at the wood pole, overhead rate at a cost
of $38,635.30;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waukee that
the Installation of Streetlight Proposal from MidAmerican Energy [NE Douglas Parkway] is
hereby approved.
Passed by the City Council of the City of Waukee, Iowa, and approved this the 7th day of
June, 2021.

Enclosed is the streetlight proposal for the Warrior Lane reconstruction project in
Waukee, IA WMIS: 2877616.
This proposal includes the installation of streetlights on:
NE Douglas Parkway in Waukee, IA
We Propose To:
The lights installed on steel poles and served by underground conductors will be billed to
the city at the wood pole, overhead rate. The cost for this installation is $38,635.30.
MidAmerican Energy Company’s streetlight proposal is based on the approved street
light analysis provided by the City. MidAmerican Energy Company will install the lights
based on the staked locations provided in the field by the customer.
If this proposal meets with your approval, please sign and return one (1) copy of this
letter. Payment may be withheld until installation is complete.

Upon receipt of your approval, we will prepare work instructions and schedule the
installation of these lights upon site readiness. This proposal is valid for 90 days and if
MidAmerican Energy Company construction has not commenced within 12 months it
may be voided.
