SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: The quote is for materials for the Waukee 10-inch
Project, Meredith/NW 10th Street (Natural Gas Main Materials) includes all Pipe, CP and Safety,
Valves, and Fittings for gas line from the intersections of Alice’s Road and Meredith Dr. to NW
10th and W Hickman Road.
Quotes were received on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 with two quotes received. Industrial Sales in the
amount of $505,258.94 and Irby in the amount of $526,533.09. Industrial Sales is the apparent
low quote which is 12% under the Engineer’s Estimate of $574,423.93.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS: $505,258.94
COMMISSION/BOARD/COMMITTEE COMMENT:
STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: Staff recommend approval of the resolution awarding
quote to Industrial Sales of Omaha, Nebraska [Waukee 10-inch Project, Meredith/NW 10th
Street].
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the resolution.

MEREDITH/NW 10TH STREET (NATURAL GAS MAIN MATERIALS)
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF WAUKEE, IOWA:
That the following quote for certain public improvements described in general as Waukee 10-
inch Project, Meredith/NW 10th Street (Natural Gas Main Materials) and described in the
Request for Quotes that was provided to vendors be and is hereby accepted, the same being the
lowest responsible quote received for such work, as follows:
Contractor: Industrial Sales of Omaha, NE
Amount of quote: $505,258.94
PASSED AND APPROVED this 7th day of June, 2021.

RE: Material Quote for Waukee 10‐inch Project Meredith/NW 10th ST
Dear Mr. Royer,
USDI has reviewed the quotes from two vendors for the above referenced project. The
apparent low quote is Industrial Sales Company, Inc. located in Omaha, NE. Their quote
amount is $505,258.94 (see attached). Their quote was lower than my engineer’s estimate for
the materials of $574,423.93 (see attached).
The materials quoted meet the specifications required for this project. I recommend that the
City proceed with material procurement with Industrial Sales per their quote.
