SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: The project includes the furnishing of all labor,
equipment and materials for the construction of the Douglas Parkway Extension, generally
described as follows:
The project is to extend NE Douglas Parkway from NE Badger Lane to N Warrior Lane and
add a southbound right turn lane on N Warrior Lane at Hickman Road. Construction consists
of approximately 450 square yards (SY) of pavement removal, 4,220 SY of 9” Reinforced
P.C.C., 4,000 SY of subgrade preparation, 4,850 SY of modified subbase, 1,100 SY of
sidewalk and trail pavement, 1 sanitary sewer manhole, 200 LF of 15-inch storm sewer, 200 LF
of 36-inch storm sewer, drainage structures, miscellaneous grading, site restoration, survey,
traffic control, and other associated work.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
DOUGLAS PARKWAY EXTENSION
The City Council of Waukee, Iowa, will hold a public hearing on the proposed Plans, Specifications, Form of Contract and
Estimate of Costs for the construction of the above referenced public improvements at 5:30 p.m. on June 21, 2021 at the
Council Chamber in City Hall, 230 West Hickman Road, Waukee, Iowa 50263. At said hearing, any interested person may
appear and file objections thereto or to the cost of the improvements.
Due to public health concerns and guidance, in accordance with Iowa Code Sections 21.4(1)(b) and 21.8, this meeting of the
Waukee City Council will be conducted with two different options for public participation: 1) Members of the public wishing
to attend in person may do so in the Council Chambers at Waukee City Hall. 2) Members of the public wishing to

The project is to extend Douglas Parkway from NE Badger Lane to N Warrior Lane and add a turn lane on Warrior Lane to
Hickman Road, located north of Hickman Road in the City of Waukee Iowa. The construction consists of approximately
450 square yards (SY) of pavement removal, 4220 SY of 9” Reinforced P.C.C., 4000 SY of subgrade preparation, 4850 SY of
modified subbase, 1100 SY of sidewalk and trail pavement, 1 sanitary sewer manhole, 200 LF of 15-inch storm sewer, 200
LF of 36-inch storm sewer, drainage structures, miscellaneous grading, site restoration, survey, traffic control, and other
associated work.
