SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: The quote is for pavement patching within University
Avenue between SE Waco Place and SE Westwoods Drive.
Quotes were received on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 with two quotes received, Q3 Contracting,
Inc. and Jasper Construction Services, Inc. Q3 Contracting, Inc. is the apparent low quote in the
amount of $110,576.57 which is 18.5% under the Engineer’s Estimate of $135,820.00.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS: $110,576.57
COMMISSION/BOARD/COMMITTEE COMMENT:
STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: Staff recommend approval of the resolution awarding
quote to Q3 Contracting, Inc. of Des Moines, IA [2021 University Avenue Pavement Patching
Project].
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the resolution.

AWARDING QUOTE FOR 2021 UNIVERSITY AVENUE PAVEMENT PATCHING
PROJECT
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF WAUKEE, IOWA:
That the following quote for certain public improvements described in general as 2021
University Avenue Pavement Patching Project and described in the Request for Quotes that was
provided to vendors be and is hereby accepted, the same being the lowest responsible quote
received for such work, as follows:
Contractor: Q3 Contracting, Inc. of Des Moines, IA
Amount of quote: $110,576.57
PASSED AND APPROVED this 21st day of June, 2021.
