SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: City staff was notified by the low bidder, Waukee
Power Equipment, on Monday, June 21st that their quote that was opened
on Wednesday, June 9 had to be pulled due to being below the minimum
allowed bid set by ExMark. Considering the discrepancy in quotes City
Staff recommends rejecting all quotes and accepting new quotes on June
30, 2021.
Three Quotes were received:
Waukee Power Equipment $33,367.03
Clive Power Equipment $34,399.00
MTI Distributing, Inc. $34,877.21

RESOLUTION 2021-
REJECTING QUOTATIONS [96-INCH ZERO TURN MOWER,
WAUKEE PARKS & RECREATION DEPARTMENT]
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Dallas County, State of Iowa, is a duly organized Municipal
Organization; AND,
WHEREAS, on June 9, 2021, the date fixed for receipt of sealed quotations for a 96-Inch Zero
Turn Mower (hereinafter referred to as “Mower”) for the Waukee Parks & Recreation
Department, three (3) quotes were received; AND,
WHEREAS, following the opening of the quotations, City staff was notified by apparent low
bidder Waukee Power Equipment of Waukee, IA, that there was a discrepancy in their quote due
to it being below the minimum allowed quote set by ExMark, the manufacturer of the quoted
Mower; AND,
WHEREAS, in light of this discrepancy, it is in the best interest of the City to reject all quotes
received for the Mower.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this
28th day of June, 2021, that all quote received on June 9, 2021, for a 96-Inch Zero Turn Mower
are hereby rejected.
