AGENDA ITEM:Consideration of approval of Change Order No. 7 to Elder Corporation
for the Waukee Public Library Stormwater Improvements increasing the
contract amount by $6,800.00.
FORMAT:Consent Agenda
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: Change Order No. 7 is for replacement of the planter
drainage board within the existing raised planter integral to the building.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS: The net result of this
Change Order increases the contract price in the amount of $6,800.00.

Mr. Koester,
Please find attached Change Order #7 for the Waukee Public Library Stormwater Improvements. The
change order includes the following items:
• Landscape Planting Bed – Drainage Board Replacement
The original drainage board on the walls of the existing planting bed integral to the building was
discovered to be inadequately draining water from the planting soils. Replacement of the drainage
board will result in improved drainage away from the walls of the library building.
We have reviewed the change order items and unit prices, both are line with anticipated amounts. If
City staff concurs with this change, we recommend the City of Waukee approve this change order in the
amount of $6,800.00 to the construction contract for the Waukee Public Library Stormwater
Improvements with Elder Corporation of Pleasant Hill, IA.

THE CONTRACT IS CHANGED AS FOLLOWS:
Change Order Item CO-7.1 is to add replacement of the drainage board within the existing raised planter integral to the building. Existing drainage board will be
removed and new drainage board will be installed. Granular material will be removed, salvaged, and reinstalled with new filter fabric installed over the granular
material. PVC piping through the planter wall will be cleaned.
