[Broderick Pond Reconstruction Project, Douglas Parkway Bridge and Recreation Trail Underpass] FORMAT:Resolution SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: Amendment No. 1 includes additional permitting, preliminary and final design and bid phase services for the Broderick Pond Reconstruction, Douglas Parkway Bridge over Tributary to Little Walnut Creek and Recreation Trail Underpass of Douglas Parkway. The Scope of Services provided in Attachment A lists a comprehensive list of phases and tasks to bring this project from permitting through a local bid letting, including those performed by Calhoun-Burns and Associates subconsultants. All provisions of the original Agreement remain in effect except as modified by this Amendment No. 1. FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS: Contract amendment 1 will be for amount not to exceed $157,570.00. This will bring the total proposed contract amount not to exceed $201,670.00. [BRODERICK POND RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT, DOUGLAS PARKWAY BRIDGE AND RECREATION TRAIL] IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Dallas County, State of Iowa, is a duly organized Municipal Organization; AND, WHEREAS, the City desires to retain the consultant services of Calhoun-Burns and Associates, Inc. for the Broderick Pond Reconstruction Project, Douglas Parkway Bridge and Recreation Trail Project; AND, WHEREAS, the original Agreement for Professional Consulting Services with Calhoun-Burns and Associates, Inc. was approved on October 5, 2020 (RES 2020-371); AND, WHEREAS, Amendment No. 1 includes additional permitting, design and bid phase services; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waukee that the Agreement for Professional Consulting Services Amendment No. 1 between Calhoun-Burns and Associates, Inc. and the City of Waukee, Iowa [Broderick Pond Reconstruction Project, Douglas Parkway Bridge and Recreation Trail] is hereby approved. CITY shall do the following in a timely manner, so as to not delay the services of the CONSULTANT: 1. Continue to provide updated submittals of development plans from CDA. 2. Continue to provide copies of all correspondence from review agencies for inclusion in the project file maintained by the CONSULTANT. A4 3. Continue to provide timely reviews and comments of each submittal made by the CONSULTANT. 4. Negotiate and obtain any permission and/or permanent easement and/or temporary construction easement to access the Broderick property, and other nearby properties, for the purpose of site survey; draining, dredging, and disposal of pond sediment. 5. Assist in the coordination with any private utility companies that may be affected by the project. 6. Conduct a Public Information meeting for the project, if desired. 7.Provide any applications, public notices, and fees required by the IDNR related to a National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit obtained for the project prior to construction.
